Houses and garage doors in Meadow Glade
Meadow Glade is a small community of detached, owner-occupied homes that grew up around a Seventh-day Adventist school campus. The 2020 census counted 2,758 residents in 897 housing units, up from 1,584 people in 1990.
Its housing falls into two camps. Census estimates place about a third of Meadow Glade homes in the 1950s to 1970s, many of them ranches on larger lots, and another third in the 1980s and 1990s, with plats such as Tudor's Glen (1998) and Enzler Meadows (2000) adding houses around the turn of the century that usually came with attached two-car garages.
Next door, the picture changes quickly. Part of Meadow Glade sits inside Battle Ground's urban growth area, and new tracts such as Cedar Heights (2022) and Woodin Creek Station (2026) lie just over the city limit, so a few blocks can separate a 1960s ranch from a house still on its first set of springs.
The garages in Meadow Glade
Meadow Glade garages come in two shapes: a single or two-car garage on an older ranch, often with an outbuilding behind it, and the attached two-car garage of a 1990s or 2000s plat. The older lots run larger than the tract lots next door.
On the newer houses, age is catching up with the openers. An opener installed with a house in Tudor's Glen or Enzler Meadows has run for more than 20 years, and at that age drive gears wear, travel limits drift and photo eyes get bumped out of line. On the ranches, a lighter door on extension springs or an old opener with no photo eyes still turns up.

Common repairs in Meadow Glade
Meadow Glade calls split by era, with openers and photo eyes on the turn-of-the-century plats and spring conversions and remote pairing on the older ranches.
The opener original to a Tudor's Glen or Enzler Meadows house has passed 20 years of daily trips. When its gear or logic board gives out at that age, we price the repair against a new belt or chain drive and fit whichever makes sense for the door.

Questions from Meadow Glade homeowners
Which side of the Battle Ground line does your Meadow Glade service cover?
Both sides. We cover the unincorporated Meadow Glade community in 98604, including Tudor's Glen, Enzler Meadows and the roads around Columbia Adventist Academy, and the new tracts just inside Battle Ground such as Cedar Heights and Woodin Creek Station. Your mail reads Battle Ground either way, so the street address is what tells us where you are. Meadow Glade Adventist Elementary on NE 109th Avenue is another handy marker.
Does a Meadow Glade garage project go through Battle Ground or Clark County permits?
That depends on which side of the city limit your house sits. Homes in the unincorporated Meadow Glade community fall under Clark County Community Development, even where the land is inside Battle Ground's urban growth area. Houses in the newer tracts inside city limits go through the City of Battle Ground. In both cases, a new opener circuit needs a state electrical permit, and we confirm which office applies before quoting any change to the opening itself.
Is the original opener in a 1990s Meadow Glade house worth repairing?
Sometimes, if the motor is sound and the trouble is a gear, a sensor or a setting. A unit put in when Tudor's Glen or Enzler Meadows was built has run for more than 20 years, so we lay out the repair next to a new opener plainly. Spring balance gets checked first, since a door out of balance wears out any opener, old or new. A healthy motor on a balanced door often justifies a gear kit.
Why might an older Meadow Glade ranch still have extension springs?
Because older and lighter doors were often hung on extension springs, and a ranch garage whose door was never replaced may still have them. Those springs stretch along the horizontal tracks and need a safety cable through each one. If yours are rusty or have no safety cables, we replace the pair or switch the door over to torsion. Rust on the coils or a pulley that wobbles on its bolt says the set is due.
How does north county rain and frost affect Meadow Glade garage doors?
It means more wet days and more freezes than the river lowlands see. The Battle Ground weather station, close by to the northeast, records about 15 more inches of rain each year than Vancouver's Pearson Field. That keeps bottom seals and the lowest panel damp much of the winter, and frosty mornings stiffen the rubber against the slab until it splits. Ice storms add outages, so knowing where your emergency release cord hangs matters here.
Can you reach Meadow Glade the same day for a door stuck halfway?
In most cases, yes. Meadow Glade sits between SR 502 and SR 503 on the way into Battle Ground, so it fits our north county run without a special trip. If the door stopped halfway after a bang, leave it where it is, keep the car outside if you can, and get a picture of the springs to us. That picture tells us whether to bring torsion springs, extension springs or cables.
Can you work on the old outbuilding door behind a Meadow Glade ranch?
Yes, whether it is a small sectional door, a one-piece tilt-up or a wood door that has hung there since the house was new. Those doors often run on extension springs or side springs with worn pulleys and rusty cables, so we bring safety cables and the hardware to rehang it. Snap the springs and the track on your phone first, and we will know what to load before the trip.
