About this website
The pages here explain the garage door work Columbia Spring & Cable takes on, show starting prices and offer background on springs, cables, openers and doors. Treat it as background reading: your own door still needs to be seen, in person or in photos.
How a price is set
Each figure on the price board is where a repair begins for a typical home door, parts and labor together, with Washington sales tax added on the invoice. Your job gets its own figure, settled with you ahead of any work.
A figure given from photos rests on what those photos show. When the door turns out to need something else, you hear why and decide before anything more is done. The diagnostic line applies only to a visit that ends without a repair. The board may be updated from time to time; the figure settled for your job stays with that job.
Spring and cable safety
The springs, lift cables and bottom brackets on a garage door hold a lot of stored force. The guides describe what a homeowner can look at without risk, and they are not a set of instructions for spring or cable work. You rely on them at your own risk, and when in doubt, leave the door alone and call.
Text messages
Ticking the consent box on the quote form, or sending us the first text, means you accept texts tied to that request, for example about the photos, the figure, the booking or the arrival time. The number of texts depends on the job, and your carrier may charge for messages and data.
Send STOP at any point to end them, or HELP for help. Buying a repair never depends on agreeing to texts.
Arrival times
The window given when a visit is booked is an estimate made at that moment. Traffic, weather and the jobs before yours can shift it, and a message follows whenever it moves.
Trademarks and links
Door and opener makers own their names, which appear here only so readers can tell which equipment a page is about. Columbia Spring & Cable works independently of every maker. Outside links to makers, agencies and other sites are offered for reference, and those sites answer for their own pages.
Ownership of the site
Columbia Spring & Cable owns the words, images and design on these pages. Linking to any page is fine.
Liability
To the extent the law permits, Columbia Spring & Cable does not answer for indirect or incidental loss that comes from using the website. These terms take away none of the rights consumer protection law gives you.
Updates
A changed version of these terms replaces this one on this page, with the new date shown near the top. For questions, write to hello@columbiaspringandcable.com.
